A few days ago, the All-China Women’s Federation (ACWF) announced the 2021 “Models of the Bearer of the March 8th Red Flag”, “Bearers of the March 8th Red Flag” and “Bearers of the March 8th Red Flag (Collective)”. Qingele Jirigele, a Communist Party member and Chief Technical Expert of the Shougang Institute of Technology, was named “Bearer of the March 8th Red Flag” and took to the stage as an award-winning representative at the commendation forum held by ACWF on March 7th.

Over the years, Qingele has devoted herself to scientific research, bravely tackled key problems and made a series of scientific achievements. She has completed more than 20 scientific research projects at Shougang, many of which have reached the international advanced and leading level. Her project achievements have won many scientific and technology awards in the metallurgical industry, at the provincial and ministerial levels, and from the Shougang Group, creating direct economic benefits of over RMB 300 million.

She has published more than 40 papers in important journals and academic conferences at home and abroad, including more than 20 papers published as the first author, two papers published in SCI journals and four published in EI journals. She has applied for 13 national invention patents as the first applicant, and holds 11 invention patents, and her team has applied for more than 30 patents and one international invention patent.

Qingele has won four provincial and ministerial-level science and technology awards, and 15 Shougang science and technology awards. In 2016, she was named “Excellent Communist Party Member of the Beijing SASAC System”; in 2017, she was awarded the honorary titles of “Excellent Young Engineer of Beijing” and “Shougang Model Worker”; in 2018 and 2019, she was awarded the honorary title of “National Model Worker in the Steel Industry”; and in 2021, she was awarded the honorary title of “Innovation Model” in the “SOE Model • Beijing Model” themed activity by the Beijing SASAC System.

Reportedly, “Model of the Bearer of the March 8th Red Flag”, “Bearer of the March 8th Red Flag” and “Bearer of the March 8th Red Flag (Collective)” have been the highest honors granted to outstanding women by ACWF since 1960. This time, ten models, 300 bearers and 200 collectives of the March 8th Red Flag were selected. The selected individuals and collectives are dedicated, hard-working and enterprising on all fronts, striving to be the builders of great undertakings, advocates of civilized fashion and strugglers who dare to pursue their dreams. Staying true to their original aspirations and keeping their mission firmly in mind, they fully display their outstanding demeanor and write their heroic chapters on the new journey in the new era.
