On May 24th, the 27th National Invention Exhibition – Belt & Road and BRICS National Skills Development & Technology Innovation Competition came to a successful conclusion. After evaluation by experts, 86 Shougang projects won Invention and Entrepreneurship Awards and Project Awards, including 11 gold awards, 26 silver awards, and 49 bronze awards. Shougang Group Co., Ltd. and Shougang Jingtang United Iron & Steel Co., Ltd. received the Best Organization Choice Award.

For this evaluation, Shougang submitted innovative patented projects covering various fields such as metallurgy, construction, automation, and machinery which comprehensively demonstrate the Group’s innovative achievements in raw materials production, technological processes, mechanical equipment, and control parameters. These achievements vividly demonstrate Shougang’s implementation of the new development concepts in all sectors of society. Eleven projects, including Qin Jiaxing’s “Fully Automated Intelligent Steel Tapping System for Converter” from Shougang Co., Ltd., Ren Xinyi’s “Research and Industrial Application of Key Technologies for High-precision Flexible Rolling of Super-wide Tandem Rolling Mill” from Shougang Jingtang, and Ding Zhusong’s “District Drainage Control Method for Water Storage Tank in Drainage Pumping Station” from Shougang Mining, won gold awards; twenty-six projects, including Li Chunyuan’s “Method and Device for Controlling Temperature Difference between Lateral Sides of Strip Steel” from Shougang Co., Ltd. and Liu Zuoli’s “Pneumatic Impact Drilling and Perforating Device for Underground Medium Deep Blastholes” from Shougang Mining, received silver awards; and 49 projects, including Ke Yujun’s “Method to Reduce Use of Sleeves for Defective Empty Coils of Thin Materials” from Shougang Jingtang, won bronze awards.
