Launch Ceremony of Beijing Digital Economy Experience Week and Digital Consumption Festival Held in Shougang Park
Release Time:2024-07-23 13:41:19On June 27th, the launch ceremony of the 2024 Beijing Digital Economy Experience Week and Digital Consumption Festival was held in Shougang Park as the event officially kicked off under the theme “New Experience with Digital Technology, New Trends in Consumption Upgrading”.
More than 150 people attended the launch ceremony, including Liu Meiying, Deputy Secretary-General of the Beijing Municipal People’s Government; Jiang Guangzhi, Secretary of the Leading Party Members’ Group and Director of the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Economy and Information Technology; Li Xin, Deputy Secretary and District Chief of the CPC Shijingshan District Committee; Wang Shizhong, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Deputy General Manager of the Shougang Group; representatives from the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Commerce, Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism, and Beijing Association for Science and Technology; leaders of districts and counties; and representatives of outstanding entrepreneurs.
The Experience Week is an important part and pre-event of the 2024 Global Digital Economy Conference. This event saw the launch of eight “Fun Tour of Digital Beijing” digital-economy-themed experience routes focusing on core areas of the digital economy such as the metaverse, digital humans, Beidou navigation and satellite remote sensing, smart mobility, industrial Internet, digital visual intelligence, digital and intelligent industry, and artificial intelligence, and involving nearly 30 experience scenarios. Citizens can follow the routes in full to experience the whole process, or choose the individual scenarios that most interest them.
Information consumption experience centers are the iconic entities of information consumption in Beijing. At the launch ceremony, the third batch of information consumption experience centers in Beijing were awarded plaques to further enhance the awareness and acceptance of digital consumption among consumers, create a digital consumption ecosystem, and promote the upgrading of consumer industries. Among them, the Shougang Park Metaverse Information Consumption Experience Center was officially awarded a plaque.
Meanwhile, under the guidance of the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Economy and Information Technology, and jointly organized by the Metaverse Innovation and Development Working Committee of the Beijing Informatization Association and Beijing Shougang Construction Investment Co., Ltd., the “Metaverse Innovative Product Experience Season” was launched. As a highlight of this Experience Week, from June 28th to August 31st, the Experience Season will gather many metaverse innovation enterprises at the Metaverse Digital Experience Complex (Silo) and the first floor of Blast Furnace No. 3 in Shougang Park, where the latest achievements in metaverse technology will be presented and the public will be offered an unprecedented immersive scientific and technological feast.
As the venue of the launch ceremony and Metaverse Innovative Product Experience Season, Shougang Park Silo has been transformed into China's first large-scale metaverse digital experience complex, bringing together multi-dimensional content of the metaverse industry such as metaverse immersive interactive experiences, science and technology exchange platforms, innovation showcases, and R&D support bases, thereby realizing the integration of traditional industrial heritage and future science and technology scenarios.
For the first time, this exhibition has brought together 12 metaverse enterprises to showcase metaverse digital consumption scenarios. Among them, three immersive experience projects have made their global debuts, namely “Travel around China: Beijing’s Central Axis”, “A Dream into the Tang Dynasty” immersive Chinese civilization exploration and experience exhibition, and “VisionPro Surreal Entertainment and Socializing – VP Game”. Many outstanding enterprises and IPs have provided consumer services for innovative products in the metaverse field, not only bringing rich consumption choices and experiences to consumers, but also realizing the linkage between industries and consumption. This will promote the “front store and back factory” model in Shougang Park, attract more IPs and enterprises to settle here, provide the public with innovative metaverse product experiences, create a new model of metaverse digital consumption and an Internet-famous metaverse site in Beijing, and lead the way in information consumption and business models in the capital.
