Shougang Jingtang’s Medium Plate Room Successfully Achieves Batch Supply of 160 mm Ultra-thick High-strength Construction Steel Plates

It is reported that this batch of steel is being used in the construction project of a bank, marking an expansion in the production capacity and application fields of the Medium Plate Room’s super-thick specification products.
By virtue of its excellent performance in weldability, seismic resistance, and low-temperature impact resistance, high-strength construction steel is primarily applied in large-scale construction projects such as high-rise buildings, super-high-rise buildings, long-span sports venues, airports, convention and exhibition centers, steel-structured factory buildings, etc. Ultra-thick high-strength construction steel has higher technical requirements and greater production challenges than those of ordinary low-alloy structural steel. As explained by Gao Xiaoyong, a specialist in high-strength construction steel from the Medium Plate Room of the Jingtang Manufacturing Department, “The thickness of 160 mm has surpassed the limit range of the national standards. To ensure product quality, we collaborated with the Technology Center and the Medium Plate Division to form a joint research team, and focused on quality design from the two perspectives of composition and process. Through precise control and optimization measures, all indicators of the entire batch of steel plates fully met the standards.”
