Recently, at the 2024 China Theme Park Strategic Marketing Summit in Wuhan, Shougang Blast Furnace No. 1 SoReal Science Fiction Paradise won the China Cultural Tourism Pioneer Award, adding luster to Shougang Park’s distinctive sci-fi cultural tourism.

Jointly created by the Shougang Group and Dang Hong Qi Tian Group, Blast Furnace No. 1 SoReal Science Fiction Paradise is the world’s first fully immersive space exploration-themed sci-fi complex that integrates culture and art, science popularization, technological experience, exchanges and exhibitions, leisure and entertainment, dining, and shopping. With a construction area of approximately 20,000 m2, it retains the original structure and exterior industrial architectural features of the blast furnace to the greatest extent while embedding cool cutting-edge technological elements inspired by Chinese sci-fi stories. It extensively utilizes frontier technologies such as the 5G network, virtual reality, mixed reality, augmented reality, artificial intelligence, spatial computing, cloud computing, edge computing, digital twin technology, large-space positioning, holographic imaging, and 3D projection. It encompasses the future technology park, themed show venues, art exhibition spaces, Winter Olympics intelligent sports product experience area, immersive theater, and future light-and-shadow interactive restaurant, creating a new immersive cultural tourism experience scenario that blends “technology + life”.

As one of the most anticipated sci-fi entertainment projects in Shougang Park, Shougang Blast Furnace No. 1 SoReal Science Fiction Paradise has achieved remarkable results over the past year while shining as bright as a star. It has actively participated in high-profile cultural events such as the 2023 China Science Fiction Convention, 2023 Beijing Science Fiction Carnival, and 2024 Beijing New Year Countdown, and hosted events and competitions such as the 2023 Qualcomm Ventures Sequoia China Intelligent Connectivity Startup Competition and 2023 Tencent Global eSports Arena (TGA) Winter Finals. It has successfully completed over 300 reception activities, including overseas delegations from the United States, United Kingdom, Japan, Germany, Singapore, Thailand, Dubai, Finland, Norway, and Austria. It has also hosted inspection visits and exchanges by more than 20 provincial and municipal government departments and over 100 industrial partners from across China.

Moreover, Shougang Blast Furnace No. 1 SoReal Science Fiction Paradise has been selected as one of the first “5G + Smart Tourism” pilot projects announced by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. It has also received such honors as the 2023 Shougang Park Outstanding Contribution Award and the title of “Best Metaverse Development and Innovation Test Zone” at the 7th Pioneer Awards, solidifying its reputation as the gold standard for sci-fi cultural tourism in western Beijing.
