Shougang Jingtang Successfully Produces First Roll of Automotive External Panels with Large Steel Scrap Ratio of 50%

Recently, Shougang Jingtang United Iron & Steel Co., Ltd. successfully produced the first roll of galvanized automotive side external panels smelted with a large steel scrap ratio of 50%, marking another milestone in terms of long-process low-carbon steelmaking technology, and leading the industry.

Using a large steel scrap ratio in steelmaking can effectively reduce carbon emissions in long-process steel production, providing effective support for the expansion of steel and iron products into the low-carbon field under the current context of achieving “dual carbon” goals.
