Shougang Mining Corporation Goes All Out in “Dual Over-Fifty-Percent” Goals with Continuous Improvement in Production and Operation

Through striving hard during the “Red May,” fighting for the “Golden Season”, and going all out in the “Dual Over-Fifty-Percent” goals, the company achieved continuous improvement in production and operation. It also overfulfilled the targets for key indicators such as monthly revenue and profit, achieved the historical highest level of output, transportation volume, and freight volume of building materials, and satisfactorily completed the production and operation tasks in May, laying a solid foundation for achieving the “Dual Over-Fifty-Percent” goals in terms of both time and tasks.
Tapping into its resource potential, the company offered services for the big picture of the iron and steel industry. In response to the changing circumstances, it promptly adjusted its production rhythms. It also completed the 240-hour full-process maintenance of Xingshan Iron Mine, balanced the ore resources, and fulfilled the monthly plan for concentrate powder production and marketing, meeting the demands for the raw materials of iron and steel. By tapping into the ore resources of Shuichang Iron Mine and Xingshan Iron Mine, the company refined its blasting organization and saved geological ore reserves, continuously strengthening the foundation of resource support. Adhering to the concept that “all costs can be reduced”, it also strengthened daily management, with the peak-to-valley ratio of the Xingshan Mining System and unit electricity price reaching new lows in the past two years, and the electricity consumption of the building material coarse crushing process at Shuichang Iron Mine achieving an all-time low.
Continuously improving its efficiency and capacity, the company enhanced its industrial value. It focused on creating value-added production lines for the comprehensive resource utilization industry, tackling weak links in key equipment and critical processes. By strengthening production and marketing organization for building products and tapping into potential, it also increased the output of all three production lines, with the monthly handling capacity of Shuichang’s building material production lines exceeding 1 million tons. The company focused on high-efficiency transportation and logistics for the transportation logistics industry, aimed for the “Double 550” goals, optimized the process flows, offered services for industrial development, and achieved total monthly transportation volume of 5.504 million tons and building material freight volume of 550 trains, achieving new breakthroughs.
Accelerating engineering construction, the company prepared for production. It raced against the clock in advancing the construction progress of Macheng Iron Mine, adhered to arrangement, deployment, implementation, and assessment for both engineering construction and preparation before pilot production, implemented grid management throughout the process, and advanced the target nodes in order as planned. By the end of May, the company had completed a total of 3.6715 million m3 of shaft sinking and drifting works, accounting for 81.05% of the total works, with the construction progress of surface beneficiation, shaft towers, and public and auxiliary facilities meeting the expectations. The successful one-time water test run of the long-distance concentrate transportation pipeline paved the way for production through the beneficiation system.
Adhering to innovation-driven development, the company enhanced its vitality for development. Leveraging the “Five Ones” initiative, it promoted the construction of employee’s innovation studios. It also actively promoted people-oriented innovation activities, with 16 projects winning the “Invention and Entrepreneurship Award – Project Award” at the National Invention Exhibition. The company held an on-site exchange themed “Learning from BSW for Efficiency Enhancement and Cost Reduction” to identify gaps, address shortcomings, and promote improvements. It also organized training classes for new grassroots leading officials and seminars for technical professionals, advanced job evaluations and appointments, and carried out vocational skills competitions such as the “Mining Cup” and “Locomotive Cup” at various levels, providing a platform for talent growth and development.
Fulfilling its responsibilities, the company promoted harmony and stability. Firmly maintaining the bottom line and red line of safety and environmental protection, it conducted a comprehensive “safety overhaul”, focusing on key areas and sectors to conduct thorough investigations and rectifications. It also took comprehensive measures for rain and flood prevention, including organizing emergency drills at waste dumps, consolidating the line of defense of safety production, and strengthening the provision of emergency relief materials and ensuring production safety during the flood season. Committed to doing practical work for the people’s benefit, the company deepened the practical activity themed “I Do Practical Things for the People”, and completed the Binnan and Bindong Parks and had them opened to the public, further improving the living environment in families’ residential areas.
In the second half of the year, facing the pressing, heavy, and high-standard tasks of production, operation, reform, and development, the Shougang Mining Corporation will focus on the goals of the 14th Five-year Plan period and the key objectives of the Workers’ Congress, transform the achievements of Party discipline learning and education into high-quality development results, promote technological innovation as its first competitiveness, firmly grasp the main contradictions and formulate countermeasures, and accomplish what should be done and do it well, thereby fully ensuring the realization of the “Dual Over-Fifty-Percent” goals for the first half of the year and all annual targets and tasks.
