Technological iteration leads the way, and innovation drives the future. On November 1, the 4th Seres Lightweight Technology Innovation Exhibition took place at the headquarter of Seres Group in Chongqing, with 70 core partners attending and more than 400 products from various technical fields of automobile industry displayed on site. As a preferred partner of Seres, Shougang was invited to attend the exhibition and made a special report titled “Uni-FISH High-strength Steel Exterior Panels Featuring Four Highs and Two Lows Will Redefine New Energy Vehicle Panels".

Lightweight is a key driver for the application of new technologies, reflecting a company's capability in technological development. During the exhibition, Shougang displayed its ZM and UF exterior panels and body-in-white structure using its ultra-high-strength steel, as well as green and low-carbon products, GI hot forming products, UF steel products and TRB products, showcasing major breakthroughs that Shougang has achieved in the field of automotive lightweighting through continuous product upgrading and technological innovation. Gong Jianyong, Vice President of Seres AITO Business Group and General Manager of Seres Auto Solutions Platform, visited the Shougang booth and had an in-depth communication with Guan Jiandong, Chief Technical Expert from Qianshun Technology Center of Shougang Research Institute of Technology after viewing the Uni-FISH high-strength exterior panels. Gong Jianyong praised the excellent work of Shougang, saying that as a leading supplier of auto panels in China, Shougang should make continuous research and promotion of advanced materials to meet Seres’ needs for lightweight, safe and green materials, and inject more impetus to the development of automotive lightweighting.

Automotive lightweighting has shifted the technology key from material lightweighting to the lightweighting of both materials and advanced processes. As such, Shougang has conducted joint research and development with domestic leading supporting factories and tried out new type of partnership in order to promote the development of automotive lightweighting.

He Hao, Vice President of Seres AITO Business Group and Deputy General Manager of Seres Auto Solutions Platform, exchanged views on Shougang’s development plan of merging advanced materials with advanced processing technology, and praised Shougang's efforts in exploring new technical solutions.

During the exhibition, Seres’ engineers from technology platform system, digital simulation department, stamping engineering department, and car body department also visited the Shougang booth and had extensive communication with Shougang's production, marketing and research teams. The Shougang booth attracted considerable attention amidst the vibrant atmosphere on site.
